Introduction of Mesna Injection
Mesna 200 mg Injection is used to prevent bladder bleeding caused by the chemotherapy drug ifosfamide. It is not used to reduce bladder bleeding caused by other conditions.
A doctor will give you Mesna 200 mg Injection. The dose and length of treatment will depend on your individual needs and how you respond to the medicine.Follow your doctor's commands exactly. Incorrect use or overdose may cause serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months before you feel the full benefits of this medicine, so continue treatment until your doctor tells you otherwise.
Common side effects include nausea, headache, dizziness, tiredness and stomach pain. It's recommended that you drink at least 1 litre of fluid a day during treatment. If you experience a severe allergic reaction such as rash, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, or swelling of the face, mouth, lips, or tongue, seek immediate medical attention. You will need regular blood checks to monitor your blood cell counts, kidney and liver function, and uric acid levels.
Tell your doctor if you have an autoimmune disease, liver or kidney problems, or if you are taking other medicines as many medicines may interact with Mesna 200 mg Injection.
