Neostrol 160 mg Tablet contain the active ingredient megestrol acetate. It belongs to a group of medicines called progestogens and is used to treat certain types of cancer known as hormone-dependent cancer, which include cancer of the breast. It may also be used for treating low appetite and weight loss in patients with advanced cancer or HIV or other chronic illnesses. Neostrol 160 mg can help improve caloric intake and support overall well-being.

Neostrol 160 mg Tablet may cause some common adverse effects including changes in mood, numbness, pain or tingling in fingers or thumb, heart attack, hair loss, diarrhoea, tiredness, feeling weak, impotence, passing wind, needing to urinate more often, feeling sick and being sick, changes in vaginal bleeding (breakthrough bleeding, spotting), build-up of fluid which causes swelling (mainly in the ankles), pain, rash, including hives or nettle rash (Urticaria).
