Introduction of Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule

• Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule is used alone or in combination with trametinib and is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma with a BRAF V600 mutation. It is also indicated for the adjuvant treatment of adult patients with Stage III melanoma with a BRAF V600 mutation. Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule may be used with trametinib indicated for the treatment of adult patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer with a BRAF V600 mutation. Before taking Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule, patients must have confirmation of tumour BRAF V600 mutation using a validated test.
  
  The efficacy and safety of Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule have not been established in patients with wild-type BRAF melanoma or wild-type BRAF NSCLC. Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule should therefore not be used in patients with wild-type BRAF melanoma or wild-type BRAF NSCLC.
  
  Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule may cause some common adverse effects such as hyperkeratosis, headache, pyrexia, arthralgia, fatigue, nausea, papilloma, alopecia, rash, vomiting, chills, etc. If they do not go away or get worse, tell your doctor. There may be ways of preventing or reducing these effects. It is a very strong medicine and some people may develop serious side effects while taking it. It may lower your ability to fight infections and lead to problems with your blood, liver, or kidneys. Inform your doctor if you notice unusual bleeding or bruising, lack of energy, loss of appetite, and yellowing of eyes. Your doctor will advise you regular blood tests to check for these.
  
  Before taking Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine, so let your doctor know about all the medications you are using. Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.   Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule can be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal in the dose as advised by the doctor. The duration of treatment varies based on your response to the treatment. Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with moderate or severe hepatic impairment when administered as monotherapy or in combination with trametinib.

Kidney

No dose adjustment is required for patients with mild or moderate renal impairment. There are no clinical data on subjects with severe renal impairment and the potential need for dose adjustment cannot be determined. Rafinlar 50 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with severe renal impairment when administered as monotherapy or in combination with trametinib.
