  • Irinotel 40 mg Injection is a topoisomerase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of patients with advanced colorectal cancer. It may be in combination with 5-fluorouracil and folinic acid in patients without prior chemotherapy for advanced disease. Irinotel 40 mg Injection is used alone or in combination with other medicines indicated for the first-line treatment of patients with metastatic carcinoma of the colon or rectum.

    Irinotel 40 mg Injection is used with cetuximab is indicated for the treatment of patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-expressing, KRAS wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer, who had not received prior treatment for metastatic disease or after the failure of irinotecan-including cytotoxic therapy.

    Irinotel 40 mg Injection may cause some common side effects of this medicine including fatigue, nausea, vomiting, weakness, and hair loss. Irinotel 40 mg Injection may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood and white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Inform your doctor if you notice fever, sore throat, and continuous episodes of diarrhoea. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with heart, liver, and blood uric acid levels.

    Before taking Irinotel 40 mg Injection, tell your doctor if you have chronic inflammatory bowel disease or bowel obstruction, severe bone marrow failure, and if you have heart disease, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections.
